Tasks 4 & 5

Task 4 saw a bluer day - though high Cu did form form from 4 onwards on the highest peaks. The task was a run south down the Tutaki Valley, across the watershed to the Matakitaki Valley, back north over Murchison to a turnpoint west of the Owen River pub, then back to Murchison airstrip - about 90km.

Four made it to goal. Persistence prize went to John Urlich, who didn't make goal but did stay in the air for 6.5 hours, landing at 7:10 p.m.

Wednesday dawned to an increasingly clouded sky and 10-15 kts NW forecast on the hill. They're up there now but I don't know if they'll fly. Tomorrow will be wet. More photos from Task 4 added to the gallery.
