Spark Arrestors will be mandatory

Some alternative sites are on forestry land. The competition is being held in the fire season - if the fire condition is red, we won't be allowed on to forestry land regardless.

Here are the provisional rules and precautions:

Rules
1. No fires or flames of any type.
2. No smoking.
3. Only enter permitted forestry areas if not in RED condition.
4. 0.9kg fire extinguisher plus shovel in each vehicle or do not enter.
5. Each vehicle to carry a minimum of 5 Litres of water.
6. A Larger extinguishing device is to be present on launch.
7. Spark arresters on all vehicles are mandatory.
8. No speeding up or down the mountain. Every effort should be made not to overheat vehicle engines and/or break systems.
9. No parking or stopping over long dry grass areas.

In the event of a Fire
1. Make every effort to extinguish the fire yourselves (however keep yourself and others safe).
2. If the fire is beyond your control call 111 immediately.
3. Move to an area of safety – either an area pre designated during a site specific pilot briefing, or a logical area of safety clear of the fire.
4. Report your position and status as soon as possible to the Meet Director or other pilots/persons, so all persons can be accounted for.
5. Report any Fire incident to the Competition Organisers, as soon as possible.
